Domaine Costa Lazaridi’s participation in the first major international wine competition of 2021, Mundus Vini – Spring Tasting, was accompanied by a gold medal and the highest special award for Greek wines. The Oenotria Land Cabernet Sauvignon – Agiorgitiko 2018 organic was awarded “Best of Show – Greece red”. 
This award is a recognition of our philosophy of creating high-quality wines from the unique terroir of our organic vineyard on the shores of Lake Marathon.
Domaine Costa Lazaridi Merlot Rose 2020 and Amethystos Red 2019 were both awarded the silver medal.
Mundus Vini is one of the most important wine competitions in the world and has been a milestone in the international wine world for 21 years.
In continuation 4 gold medals were awarded in Berlin at the largest wine competition in the world, the Berliner Wine Trophy 2021 – Winter Tasting.
The cosmopolitan Château Julia Chardonnay 2020, the fruity Château Julia Agiorgitiko 2019, but also the super-premium labels of the popular Amethystos family, the complex Amethystos Fume 2019 and the special Amethystos Cava 2018 were all granted the Gold Medal.
The next Gold Medals came from France and the Challenge International du Vin – one of the most important international wine competitions – namely for Domaine Costa Lazaridi Malagousia 2020 from the rocky vineyard, as well as for the flagship of the Estate, Amethystos Cava 2018. We also received 1 silver medal for Amethystos Fumé 2019, and 2 bronze medals for Château Julia Chardonnay 2020 and Amethystos White 2020.
Amethystos Cava 2018 continued to impress the experts, winning another silver medal, this time in Brussels at the Concours Mondial Bruxelles 2021!
The French competition Vinalies® Internationales 2021 is considered one of the most demanding in the world, with wine ratings accompanied by tasting notes. We are therefore very proud of the gold medal won by our emblematic Amethystos Red 2019, an award that was accompanied by particularly positive comments from the jury.
The noble Domaine Costa Lazaridi Merlot Rose 2020 conquers not only the hearts of wine lovers, but also those of professionals, returning with a silver medal from the Mondial Du Rose specialized rose wine competition.
At Decanter Wine Awards Domaine Costa Lazaridi won 3 silver medals for Amethystos Fume 2019, Domaine Costa Lazaridi Malagousia 2020 and Oenotria Land Cabernet Sauvignon – Agiorgitiko 2018 organic as well as 4 bronze medals for Amethystos Rose 2020, Château Julia Agiorgitiko 2019, Château Julia Merlot 2019 and Domaine Costa Lazaridi Merlot Rose 2020.
Another recognition came from the other side of the Atlantic, as in the famous Texas Texsom Amethystos Red 2019 received the silver medal, while Château Julia Agiorgitiko 2019, Domaine Costa Lazaridi Merlot Rose 2020 and Domaine Costa Lazaridi Malagousia 2020 were awarded with bronze medals.
Finally, there were more special awards from the Robert Parker and Wine Advocate team with scores of 92RP for Domaine Costa Lazaridi Malagousia 2020, 90RP for Domaine Costa Lazaridi Merlot Rose 2020, 89RP for Château Julia Agiorgitiko 2019 and 89 + RP for Oenotria Land Cabernet Sauvignon – Agiorgitiko 2018 organic.
Of course, such a number of awards fills us with joy and pride, but the greatest advantage of our participation in the strictest and most prestigious international competitions is the opportunity to measure ourself against wines from the most important wine-growing countries and regions of the world and thus evaluate our work.
The 27 awards fill us with the conviction that the work we do from the vineyard to the end product translates into results of very high standards and gives us the strength to continue creating wines of exceptional quality and unique character.
At the beginning of the harvest season, we look forward to high-quality grapes that give a similar continuity to the national and international awards for Domaine Costa Lazaridi.
